Solution Extension · Relay

AI detection,
into machine action.

Zira Relay turns every camera detection into a physical signal your equipment can act on. A defect is flagged — and a reject gate fires. A hand enters the safety zone — and a machine stops. No PLC integration. No custom code.

// Why Relay

Detections that do something.

AI vision finds the defect in milliseconds. But if that signal lives only inside a dashboard, the line keeps running, the bad unit moves downstream, and nothing changes.

Relay closes the loop. The camera detects an event — and a contact closes on real equipment. A reject gate. A conveyor stop. A robot trigger. A PLC input. The action happens before the next unit moves.

Most vision systems stop at detection. Zira connects the camera directly to the operation.

8-Channel Dry Contact Relay

Eight isolated relay channels. Each can be mapped to any Zira detection. Wires straight into PLC inputs, machine control circuits, alarms, reject gates, conveyors, lights, or robots.

Communication Bridge

The brain of the kit. Translates AI detections from up to 6 Zira cameras into precisely-timed contact closures on the relay board. Powers the relay board off a single 24V feed.

Trigger Logic in the Zira Console

Configure detection-to-relay mapping in the Zira platform. Set thresholds, debounce timing, pulse duration, and escalation chains — all without touching machine code or PLC programs.

// How It Works

From the camera to the contactor.

// 01 Detect

Zira Camera

AI vision detects the event — defect, missing part, safety condition, presence, machine state.

// 02 Evaluate

Trigger Logic

Zira platform evaluates the detection against the configured rule — threshold, debounce, pulse duration.

// 03 Switch

Relay Closes

The mapped channel fires. Dry contact closes for the configured duration — pulse, hold, or strobe pattern.

// 04 Act

Equipment Acts

PLC, robot, machine, conveyor, reject gate, alarm, or stack light receives the signal and executes.

// A signal, not a controller. Relay provides a dry-contact signal that your controls team wires into the appropriate machine logic. For safety-rated applications, final machine control and safety compliance remain with the facility's qualified controls and safety personnel.
// Use Cases

Any detection, any action.

Map any Zira detection to any relay channel. Wire the channel to any input on any piece of equipment. Common configurations on the floor today:

// Trigger · Quality fail

Reject gate fires

Camera flags a defect at the inspection point. Relay closes a contact on the PLC input controlling the reject gate. The bad unit is diverted before stretch wrap — no operator intervention required.

// Trigger · Safety condition

Machine stops on hand-in-zone

Camera detects a hand inside the safety envelope of a bandsaw or press. Relay opens the machine's run-permissive circuit. The machine stops, alarm activates, supervisor is notified physically — not by ticket.

// Trigger · Object presence

Robot picks on detect

Camera identifies the correct part, pallet, or board in position. Relay sends the start signal to a cobot or pick-and-place arm. Vision-conditional robotics without writing a single line of vendor code.

// Trigger · Process state

Conveyor pauses on jam

Camera detects misaligned, blocked, or absent product. Relay closes a contact on the conveyor's E-stop circuit, pauses the line, and triggers an alarm. Throughput recovers before product piles up.

// Deployment

Drop it in next to any Zira camera.

Relay is an extension, not a separate platform. If you already have Zira on the line, the kit pairs in software and ships within a week.

// 01 — Mount

Panel mount the relay

Relay board and bridge mount to DIN rail in any control panel. Single 24V feed powers both. Wire from the relay terminals to the target input on your PLC, machine, or stack light.

// 02 — Wire

Connect to your equipment

Each channel is a simple dry-contact closure — wire it the same way you'd wire any sensor, limit switch, or pushbutton. Your controls team uses it within their existing machine logic.

// 03 — Pair & live

Map detections to channels

In the Zira console, assign a camera detection to a relay channel. Set pulse duration, debounce, and trigger logic. The system is firing contacts within minutes of the bridge coming online.

The dashboard tells you what happened.
The relay does something about it.
